Trochelhill proved to be a rare gem in a beautiful part of Scotland. The welcome, state of the art rooms and first class breakfasts were all absolutely excellent- the best we\'ve ever experienced! We will definitely return! Ian and Dian were magnificent hosts!

Although we chose the weekend of the floods to visit Trochelhill it did not spoil our enjoyment of the best hotel that I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Having recently been re-furbished the rooms are fantastic with nothing left to chance and the hospitality of Ian and Dian could not be beaten.
Will we go again - bloody right we will. Tell your friends this is a treat not to be missed and order the full breakfast as you wont need to eat again that day!!!

My father and I stayed there just for one night, but wished it could have been longer. It was the nicest place we stayed at during our time in Scotland. The room had lots of special touches, like a hot water bottle and a chocolate on the pillow, that made our stay most enjoyable. Ian and Dian where lovely hosts and the breakfast in the morning was fantastic.

We´ve stayed for 3 nights in Trochelhill last summer. We were in our honeymoon and it was the best time we had in. It was the warmest stay and the lovely hospitality of the owners will be in our memory forever. We will try to come back.
Best regards from Berlin

Trochelhill is a lovely house with generous sized and spotlessly clean rooms.
Dian is a very keen and excellent baker, and the old fashioned tea laid out on the dining room table set the tone for what was a wonderful stay. We had a mountain of lovely fluffy towels on our bed, and came home after a late night to find hot water bottles in our beds. They are a wonderfully thoughtful couple, extremely hospitable, and seemed genuinely disappointed that we didn't order a cooked breakfast from their extensive menu. (I opted for leftover scones from the previous day's tea)
I cannot fault Ian and Dian in any way. They are extremely helpful without being obtrusive, they are every bit as warm and lovely as their home, and their hospitality is extremely generous.
A rare find. Highly recommended, and well worth a trip for the scones alone ...

O what a wee gem... We arrived on a real misty dreich afternoon, but from the moment we set eyes on Trochelhill Country House we new we'd struck lucky. Dian and Ian welcomed us with a warm and friendly greeting, then we were shown up to our accommodation, the Ordiequish room. This was very bright and spacious and decorated to an extremely high standard, as was the whole house. We also appreciated all the thoughtful extra wee touches in our room. We were then invited down to the lovely cosy dinning room for afternoon tea with a great selection of Dian's home-baked scones and cakes which were absolutely delicious.Had a peaceful night's sleep and in the morning went down to a full Scottish breakfast with again Dian pushing the boat out with her homemade bread. Bruce and I have stayed in hotels and B&Bs all over Scotland over the past 38 years but we feel that Dian and Ian have got the balance spot on. We will definitely be re~booking when next near Fochabers.

Four of us stayed for two night while we were touring in the region in MAY 2010. We were blown away with the wonderful reception we had on arrival, fresh coffee and home made cake, then by the sheer quality of the accommodation which compared with many five star hotels was genuinely better. Just a great experience.

This B&B is unlike any B&B I have ever stayed in. It is completely faultless which for me is a first. I have always been disappointed in the past with the general standard of accommodation in B&B's and prefer to opt for high end hotels instead so was completely taken by surprised with my stay here. The level of accommodation is pure luxury and rivals worldclass 5* hotels but with an intimacy and personal touch that surpasses even them. I cannot recommended Trochelhill highly enough, you just have to experience it for yourself. Ian and Diane are complete naturals at customer service and are genuine in their approach. Nothing is too much of an effort for them and the rooms are absolutely beautiful, high quality and extremely comfortable. A truly unforgettable experience and exceptional value for money.

How refreshing it was to arrive at Trochelhill Country House after spending the previous night in another Country House. Ian and Dian welcomed us with a warm and friendly greeting and then settled us down in front of a roaring fire and a selection of delicious home made cakes and tea. From then on everything was perfect, the bedroom tastefully decorated many towels topped with a chocolate, hot water bottles in the bed, which was very comfortable. Bathroom had everything you could wish for. The full scottish breakfast was excellent along with everything else that was on offer. It was a pity that one had to leave such a nice place and people. We will definately re-visit in the next spring.

We enjoyed a 2 night stay and wished we could stay for longer. Ian and Dian welcomed us with tea and delicious home made scones. The room and en suite was beautiful. We have paid a lot more for a lot less. Can't wait until we can visit again.

Although is an official 4-star, the reality is close to a five-plus star accomodation. Not only the rooms & the house are at great standards, the most important star is the hosting. You feel like coming home, even when is the first time you visit the location. The best service ever got in a 4 star guesthouse. Great people !!

Ian and Dian are doing an outstanding job. Trochelhill is by far the best place we have been to throughout the UK and certainly one of the top places we have ever been to. The two of them and their hospitality made our stay simply an absolute marvelous experience and that goes hand in hand with the extraordinary standard of the house. Tons of thanks for that.

We wouldn't stay anywhere else but here if around this area. Thoroughly deserving of it's rating and Iain & Dian were the perfect hosts. Our room was both stunning and spotless and a breakfast to die for!!
We cannot say enough good things about Trochelhill.

Ian & Diane are the nicest people you would wish to meet. So friendly and welcoming, feel we have known them all our lives. Will be taking my wife soon for a long weekend. Breakfast is to die for. Home made cakes and welcoming tea on arrival just hit the spot! The rooms are sumptuous and spacious. Nothing is too much trouble for Ian Diane the best hosts we have ever encountered.

Hi Ian & Diane, I hope you're both well and no doubt very busy. I stayed at your excellent Country House Bed & Breakfast whilst on Business in Fochabers. Although it was only for one night, I can say that it was a great place, the room was as good if not better, than some top hotels I’ve stayed at, and this is all down to you making that difference. The room had just been refurbished including the separate full bathroom and separate showering area, great night’s sleep, fantastic breakfast, and not to mention the fact that I arrived very late on, but you still made time to look after me with excellent tea and a late night snack, Thanks for that. When I'm back up in the area, I’ll be calling you to book. Thanks again, Stephen.

Trochelhill more than deserves a 10 / 10 rating. The hospitality is excellent. A visit is like staying with friends in a luxurious home that is spotlessly clean, yet comfortable, relaxed, friendly and intimate. Fantastic bathrooms to relax in and beautiful comfortable bedrooms.
Ian and Diane are superb hosts - they are a lovely genuine couple who create a warm and welcoming environment. The home made cakes and "welcome" cup of tea were so unexpected. The full Scottish breakfast will keep you going all day long. We are sorry that we had only booked one night and will definitely return.
Thank you for such a lovely stay - all three in our party would recommend Trochelhill to everyone we know.

Hello to you both. Thank you for making us feel so welcome in your spectacular and beautiful home. Our stay was sadly just for one night, but it was thoroughly enjoyed by the both of us. The rooms where immaculate and spacious, with a real opulence and charm. The surrounding views afforded a spectacular panorama, and the wildlife in the well kept grounds added to the serene and peaceful atmosphere. The cooked breakfast was a challenge to the waistline, but so delicious. Your attention to detail was to be commended, whilst you where both attentive, at no time did we feel you encroached upon us. We will return, the sooner the better. That's a promise we are looking forward to keeping.

Although Trochelhill was the last night of our Highland adventure, it was by far the most pleasant place to stay. Recommended by our car hire (Boyd at OpenRoadHire) we were blown away by the stunning house, gardens and tranquil atmosphere. Pulling up the driveway you feel honoured to enter the grounds and the house just gets better and better. Di and Ian are the perfect hosts, and the entire experience is faultless. I am already planning a return trip with the family in tow.
